His Excellency  Hasan Sheikh Mohamoud, President of Somalia was welcomed at Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium of the Institute at N.I.T.T.T.R., Bhopal On 31st October 2015. In this programme, the faculty members, officers and employees were present. The current president of Somalia H.E. Hasan Sheikh Mohamoud was a student of this institute for the programme Master of Technical Education 1986-88 batch. He was on a visit to Bhopal to participate in a special convocation organized by Barkatullah University, Bhopal.

With great intimacy, the director of the Institute Dr. D. Singh Karaulia gave a floral welcome to H.E. President of Somalia. While introducing him Dr. Karaulia also recalled the days when H.E. President was student of this institute. H.E. President was a devoted, talented, energetic, and a diligent student.  On this occasion audience also witnessed the film of H.E. President which was recorded and archived by the institute at the time of presentation of his project work during his student life. 

In his address H.E. President recalled the time spent by him in the institute during his student life.  He also expressed his pleasure and remembered the teachers and employees of that time while visiting the institute premises during his Bhopal visit.  H.E. President during his address while expressing his views regarding the political relationship between India and Somalia stated that the impact of the progress of India can be seen in the progress of African Countries. In addition to that, while discussing the issues of Somalia he stated that Inspite of rich in natural resources Somalia is backward mainly because of lack of education. 

His Excellency president expressed great happiness about his meeting with P.M. Shri Narendra Modi ji at New Delhi and looked forward for continued support of the government of India to Somalia. 

At the end of Programme a memento was presented to the His Excellency as a token of affection and honor. Dean Administration Dr. R. K. Dixit proposed a vote of thanks. The function was compared by our Institute employee Mrs. Anita Lala.
