Brief about Department
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has always been in the forefront of providing quality need - based training in contemporary and emerging areas and development of demand driven and innovative instructional resources.
VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering shall continue to innovate processes to usher developments in electrical/electronics engineering education, keeping excellence in focus and deliver quality services to match the needs of the technical education system, industry and society.
MISSION STATEMENTS
 1.      Train teachers of engineering colleges & polytechnics by conducting need-based short-term training programmes and workshops.
 2.      Design, develop, review and modify curricula of various programmes in current and emerging areas to fulfill identified needs.
 3.      Develop relevant learning resources like laboratory manuals, self-learning modules, multimedia packages, etc.
 4.      Conduct researches.
 5.      Offer online-cum-contact training programmes.
 6.      Offer long term programmes.
 OUR ACHIEVEMENTS OVER THE YEARS
The various activities undertaken by the department in the ambit of electrical & electronics engineering over the years are as follows:
  • Designed and Conducted online-cum-contact mode courses in technology areas
  • Conducted subject matter updating programmes related to various areas of electrical & electronics engineering.
  • Developed curricula in new/emerging areas of electrical & electronics engineering for Under-Graduate and Diploma Programmes.
  • Revised curricula for Under-Graduate and Diploma programmes in electrical & electronics engineering.
  • Trained resource persons for developing learning resources.
  • Innovated and implemented skills-based/ competency- based laboratory experience designs.
  • Conducted researches to develop competency banks in Electrical and Electronics Engineering & Wind Energy.
  • Developed learning/instructional resources like laboratory manuals, self-learning modules, multimedia packages, video programmes, question banks etc.
  • Developed guideline documents for procuring laboratory equipment/instruments in the area of electrical, electronics engineering and allied disciplines.
  • Contributed in long-term programmes such as  M.Tech.Ed. and Ph.D. and provided research guidance.
  • Evolved concept papers & published research papers at national and international levels.
  • Co-ordinated the first International Conference on Wind Energy in the country.
