The Department of Vocational Education and Entrepreneurship Development (VE & ED) is created after amalgamation of Curriculum Development Centre, Measurement and Evaluation Centre and Industrial liaison centre in view of thrust at National Level in the area of Vocational Education and Entrepreneurial Development. So far centres were carrying out their area specific activities to promote quality of polytechnic and engineering education.
The department is planning to undertake various activities such as organizing training programmes, developing curricula and assessment schemes, creating data base and undertaking/conducting research activities in the area of Vocational Education and Entrepreneurship Development. (VE & ED).
OBJECTIVES :
(i) Organise training programmes of various duration for teachers of Technical & Vocational Education System in the areas of ;
- Vocational Education
- Entrepreneurship Development.
- Curriculum Development.
- Evaluation Practices.
- Industry Institute Partnership
(ii) Develop need based curriculum for Technical & Vocational Education System.
(iii) Develop print & non-print material for Vocational Education & Entrepreneurship Development.
(iv) Create data base for training need assessment.
(v) Conduct researches in area of Curriculum Development, Evaluation, Vocational Education & Entrepreneurship Development.
(vi) Design & implement educational projects in TVET.
(vii) Establish collaboration & networking with various national & international organization in area of Vocational Education & Entrepreneurship Development.

Project for establishing the Study Centre of IGNOU for following programmes.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance;
- Certificate Course in Corporate Governance;
- Certificate Programme in Entrepreneurship Development;
- Certificate Course in Personality Development;
- Certificate Course in Communication skills;

Certificate Course in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM).

Establishing UNESCO-UNIVOC Centre for promoting Vocational Education and Training.
- Establishing the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of AICTE.
- A Project for Developing Question Bank for Gujarat Technical University (GTU) - A series of training prorammes for Question Papers setters of GTU have been organised to improve the quality of Question Papers.
