Long-Term Programmes offered at post graduate level are different in style and content from the regular Engineering Degree Courses in that these address themselves to the complex competency needs of professional technical teachers. The long-term programme of M.Tech.Ed., has been modified and restructured on Credit Based and Specific Stream based approach. It has been made open to teachers from other countries.
The Ph.D. programme in Technical Education is gaining importance in view of gradual realisation of Technical Education as a specific discipline. There is growing interest in the state systems, technical teachers and several other Colombo Plan countries to undertake Research Projects specific to the problems of technical education.
