Extension Center- Pune

In Maharashtra State, Govt. of Maharashtra established Technical Teachers’ Training College at Karad in 1965 when Government of India established Four TTTIs (Now NITTTRs). As per decision of Govt. of Maharashtra, the TTTC was closed and an Extension Centre was established in the premises of Govt. Polytechnic, Pune on 10th June 1980 under TTTI, Bhopal. The centre was shifted to the present premises in 1998. Since then the centre is catering to the training needs in various areas of Technical Teachers in Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges in the state of Maharashtra. The centre has extended its services to the Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai; Maharashtra State Board of Technical Examination, Mumbai and various other technical education institutions in the state. Faculty members from NITTTR Bhopal and Extension Centre conducted various training programmes and brought educational reforms through World Bank Assisted Technical Education I and Tech. Ed. II Projects, facilitated many reforms in curriculum development, teaching methods, instructional media and students’ assessment through training programmes and workshops. About 15-20 training programmes (of one- and two-weeks duration) are organised in the area of emerging technologies and different aspect of pedagogy at this centre every year for the faculty of Engineering Colleges and Polytechnics of Maharashtra state.
